Lille's top gastronomic tables

Lille was long judged by its estaminets and its welsh. Not anymore: the city now counts five Michelin-starred tables and a dozen Gault&Millau-toqued addresses. Enough to draw a real map of fine dining.

At the top, ROZO and its two stars, then the starred quartet: Pureté, Ginko, La Table and Le Restaurant du Cerisier. Behind them, the two-toque guard, from Rouge Barre to Coup de main, Pulpe or Octopus, proves the next generation is here. These are the tables for the big occasions, ranked by distinction, not by algorithm.

Frequently asked questions

How many Michelin-starred tables does Lille have?
Five: ROZO, the metropolis's only two-star, plus four one-stars, Pureté, Ginko, La Table and Le Restaurant du Cerisier.
Which is the best value for money?
Balsamique, which earns the Michelin Bib Gourmand, the distinction that rewards fine cooking at a reasonable price.
Where in the city are these tables?
Most are concentrated in Vieux-Lille and the centre, with a few gems in Wazemmes such as Octopus and in Marcq-en-Barœul for ROZO.
Do you need to book well in advance?
For the starred tables like ROZO or Pureté, yes, seats go fast, especially at weekends. The Gault&Millau-toqued tables are a little easier.
What sets these apart from a simply good restaurant?
Each holds a real distinction: a Michelin star, a Gault&Millau toque or a Bib Gourmand. The ranking follows that recognition, not an algorithm.
