About
Toraya is a Japanese institution founded in the 16th century in Kyoto, official supplier to the imperial court for nearly five centuries. Its Parisian tea salon, opened in 1980, is the company's only international location. Specializing in wagashi, traditional Japanese pastries, Toraya offers delicate creations made from azuki paste, agar-agar, and natural ingredients. Namagashi (seasonal fresh cakes), yokan (perfumed jellies), monaka, and other specialties change every two weeks. The zen tea room, with its refined wood tones and minimalist décor, provides a serene pause with exceptional Japanese teas, including matcha prepared in traditional ceremony style. Complete lunch menus available. An essential destination for discovering the refined art of Japanese pastry-making.
