La Dame de Pic, the Parisian restaurant by three-Michelin-starred chef Anne-Sophie Pic, delivers a refined gastronomic experience in the 1st arrondissement. Located on rue du Louvre, the establishment offers creative menus inspired by Valence flavors, with an innovative approach blending perfumes and cuisine. The meticulously crafted dishes explore bold ingredient combinations like matcha tea, licorice, and delicate herbs. Tell us about your first impressions when you arrived. There is something vaguely nautical about the all-white and teak design scheme, low ceilings, halogen spots, and shaded chrome table lamps in this dining space. Its quiet elegance mimics that of Anne-Sophie's cooking and is a reprieve from the bustle of the nearby Louvre. Offsetting the white painted walls, which brighten the largely windowless space (save for the front window for the open kitchen/kitchen staff), are white-on-white canvases with low-relief Asian-inspired floral motifs. What was the crowd like? A balanced mix of locals (usually 40-plus) out for a special evening with friends and family, or travelers who follow the Michelin guide carefully. Anne-Sophie has three-stars in Valence but for those who can't afford a three-star menu or who can't make it to Valence, this one-starred spot is a beautiful introduction to her cooking. What should we be drinking? Best to go straight for the wine and Champagne. On my visit the beverages were selected for the table, I didn't see a menu. Main event: the food. Give us the lowdown—especially what not to miss. Anne-Sophie's hyperseasonal cooking is both bold and delicate. Japanese flavors and ingredients inflect many of her dishes, as with the baked carrots with hazelnut and Nikka Black whiskey foam. Other dishes included the blue mackerel marinated in the salts of smoked Lapsang Souchong tea, served with celery risotto and brightened with bergamot; Wellington style veal with anchovy filets, Swiss chard from Provence and English Stilton. And for dessert, a highlight: a whole pear with cocoa pebbles and candied pear, mint cream, and chestnut cream. And how did the front-of-house folks treat you? Accommodating and warm without the overzealous service that tends to define fine-dining restaurants. They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful as I was choosing the dish to order. The meal was well-paced and a quick glance around the dining room confirmed that every single guest was having a ball—something that can be attributed as much to the staff as to the food. What’s the real-real on why we’re coming here? Lunch is more affordable and great for an upscale outing. Dinner could be the backdrop for an engagement, a graduation feast, a milestone birthday, or a date you're really trying to impress.

La Dame de Pic: a gastronomic cuisine with a heart - Guide.en-vols
This Parisian restaurant is a gastronomic ace, and its kitchen, open to the street, needs no cards hidden up its sleeve. In the female celebrity chef category, Anne-Sophie Pic is the grande dame of the internationalrestaurant scene and, with her 8 Michelin stars, the most decorated female chef in the world. For her first Parisian restaurant, this master chef has set out to create a feminine establishment, in shades of pale pink and white, and an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Come here, and you will always be playing your cards right. On the menus, you will love the lamb infused with green Sichuan pepper and the Emerald coast shellfish, delicately seasoned with beurre blanc, Vietnamese coriander and bergamote.. We shall not taint the surprise of the full menu. This restaurant has many strengths, including long tables d’hôte and a 49-euro lunch menu. Admit that you cannot “pass” this one!
