Au Rêve
Bistro — Grandes-Carrières (Paris)
About
Au Rêve is a historic Montmartre bistro opened in 1921, embodying the bohemian soul of the neighborhood. A legendary refuge for Parisian artists and writers—Jacques Brel composed "Ne me quitte pas" here, Marcel Aymé played dice—this mythical venue was respectfully restored by the Saint-Lazare studio in 2023, preserving its carved wooden bar, original banquettes, and iconic blue neon sign. Under chef Mathieu Renucci's direction, the kitchen offers refined bistro classics: eggs mimosa, celery remoulade, tartare, entrecôte, and chicken supreme. The wine list emphasizes Loire Valley with natural and organic selections. Open continuously from morning until late evening, Au Rêve remains an authentic crossroads where neighborhood residents, musicians, and artists converge in a timeless atmosphere.
