Our server had no clue what it was and there were really no options for gluten free. I got the eggplant which was okay not very good. We asked if the fries were in a gluten free fryer and he said yes but I don’t really believe is as they had no clue what I was talking about most of the time. I did not feel safe here. Had the most delicious eggplant dish I think I’ve ever had. Super crowded location, very popular. Pleasant and friendly staff!! (not so much some of the other guests unfortunately. But on my second visit we sat next to some very loud and obnoxious Americans, so perhaps if that’s a frequent occurrence it could explain the passive aggression from some of the locals 🤷♀) This corner is incredible for people watching too, so make sure you sit outside! Owner stayed open late for us because of travel difficulties. Everyone was so friendly! Server was knowledgeable about allergies and very confident in what we could eat and what could be modified. All allergies too! I have a nut allergy as well and felt very safe. We had the beef with fries, the caesar salad which they modified to gluten free, and the pavlova was incredible. Careful staff. Fries fried separately. I had dairy free mashed potatoes and the most delicious delicate fish I’ve ever had. My son had a huge steak frites.
