L'Ogre est un bistrot contemporain situé face à la Maison de la Radio dans le 16e arrondissement, fondé par trois passionnés de vin et de gastronomie. Ce restaurant chaleureux se distingue par sa généreuse cuisine traditionnelle française centrée sur la viande, servie dans des portions généreuses. La carte change quotidiennement et met en valeur des plats classiques comme la bavette, la côte de bœuf et des terrines maison. La cave à vin impressionnante propose une sélection soignée, avec la possibilité de payer le vin consommé « à la ficelle ». A counter and wall slats adorn the space, beside a smoking-room where one may taste a cigar sold on the premises. Served in jumbo portions, dishes are de facto capable of satisfying an ogre. Treat yourself with the pâté the size of a Rubik’s cube; the rib roast for two that weighs in at 55 ounces; and parts of the roasted sucking pig, thigh and tournedos covered by crusty rind. Vote utilisateur: 3.5 / 5 Total des votes : 9 Henry, Nicolas et Maxime, trois amis passionnés par l'œnologie et la gastronomie, négociants en vin et cavistes pendant 4 ans à Levallois-Perret, ont un jour décidé d'unir leur talent pour créer L'Ogre leur agréable restaurant bistronomique. Ils se sont donc installé en lieu et place l'ex Poivrier qui faisait face à la Maison de la Radio, qu'ils ont relooké en bistrot-restaurant parisien plus vrai que nature. L'OGRE, UN NÉO BISTROT CHICOS, VOUÉ À LA VIANDE ET AU VIN. Objectif atteint, car ce restaurant ne manque pas de charme et de patine avec ses piliers et moulures d'origine, ses tables en bois clair, son joli comptoir en zinc, et la lumière chaleureuse de vrais lampadaires de la Ville de Paris et d'anciennes lampes des ateliers de la SNCF chinés aux puces. Vu le nom de la maison, vous vous doutez bien que ce n'est pas ici qu'il faut venir si vous êtes un adepte de la cuisine light et des assiettes chétives. Ici on aime le classique, servi avec une belle générosité qui respecte le précepte du regretté et prestigieux cuisinier Raymond Oliver : « Pour qu'il y en ait assez, il faut qu'il y en ait trop ». Bon, n'exagérons pas, les portions sont largement prévues, mais la quasi-totalité des clients viennent à bout de leur assiette ! Ici pas de carte, mais des ardoises où sont notées les propositions de jour (et parfois permanentes) comme une bonne fricassée de girolles, une impeccable bavette XL (sic) à l'échalote, ou une mousse choco Valrhona. Compte tenu du cursus professionnel, vous trouverez ici une palette de vins bien choisis, et même vendus « à la ficelle » : vous payez ce que vous avez consommez. Un vieil usage des auberges d'autrefois, où la serveuse venait mesurer la hauteur du vin restant dans votre bouteille pour vous facturer juste ce que vous avez bu. The most striking thing is the friendly service which is quite rare these days in Paris. A very detailed explanation of the menu by the waitress, a saucisson offered as a starter, and a very nice Digestif at the end. Surprising! They serve a varied menu with meat dishes as well as fish. The meat is very well prepared and we quickly understand that the owners know about good meat, since they have another restaurant with a buchery inside. I would recommend the Verine of Salmon or the Terrine in Entrée, and a piece of meat as a main dish. Deserts are also homemade and the Baba au Rhum is a blast. A very good address, friendly and casual, and especially with a small cigar lounge for smokers.Less
